I am an equal opportunity drinker. While I love my scotch (& it would probably be my drink of choice if I absolutely had to choose just one…), there is a time and a place to change it up a bit. And the first week of fall seemed like the perfect opportunity to imbibe in a seasonal beverage.
Yes. It is as delicious as it sounds.
A couple of facts from Harpoon‘s website:
Pumpkin UFO (UnFiltered Offering <– cute, right?) was first brewed in 2011. The alcohol content is slightly higher than your typical Coors at 5.9% (I know you wanted to know). Pumpkin UFO is only available from August-November (so get it while you can!). There is also a UFO Pumpkin location finder on the Harpoon website so if you are interested – check it out!
My Opinion: Delicious! Not too sweet which is super important to me because I hate that syrupy taste that some flavored beer can have. I also loved the spice of this beer. I always load my oatmeal with pumpkin spice (during the fall…and the rest of the year) so I totally appreciate the hint of spice that totally reminds me of pumpkin pie.
Overall: Check it out if you like pumpkin (who doesn’t?) and good beer.
