What I Ate Wednesday – Weird Snack Edition

16 Jan

Hellooooo!  This week’s What I Ate Wednesday is brought to you by my weird daily snacks.  & also, some food from BLC & my night out after a long, terrible day at work (on another note – is it Friday, yet?).

So since I have to get to work, let’s get to it!

Breakfasts:

About-Time-Protein

I mixed this protein with milk – it was pretty good!

cheese-eggs-soy-chorizo

In the mix:  eggs, soy chorizo, & some cheese.  Plus, freshly juiced orange juice!! Yum!

NakedJuice

I just tried this new protein smoothie.  It was pretty good but it tasted too much like grapes for me.

Lunch:

lunch-apple
My go-to lunch.  Every day.  I love those N*Joy oatmeal kits!  So good and super convenient!

Snacks:

carrots-sunflower-butter

I started eating carrots with Sunflower Butter – it is addicting!  I have heard of celery and Sunflower butter so I figured, why not carrots?  I was not wrong :)

tomatoes-franks-red-hot

Tomato slices and Frank’s Red Hot – SO GOOD!  If you like Frank’s, of course.  & I love my Frank’s Red Hot!!

Dinners:

broccoli-cheddar-soup

I made a delicious broccoli cheddar soup with grated carrots, shittake mushrooms & potatoes.  Plus, there was plenty of leftovers!

Traif

On Monday, BLC took me out to Traif right down the street from us for a nice, relaxing dinner after a loooooong day.  It was super tasty.  Clockwise from the left:  Calamari, complimentary Hot Toddy, Eggplant stuffed with Muenster Cheese & Scallops.  I will be adding a review to my Restaurant Review page soon :)

I’ve been addicted to carrots and some sunflower seed butter. I have yet to try Sunbutter but see it everywhere! Is it peanut butter? If so, do they make others besides peanut?

I think Sunbutter is sunflower seed butter – just a different brand!

I just bought some sunflower seed butter, because I’ve heard so much about it. But I can’t stand it! Yuk! I was thinking maybe if i dip something in it, it won’t be so bad. I’ll have to try carrots now!
Tomato’s with hot sauce? Never heard of that! That broccoli cheddar soup looks to die for!

That’s why they make chocolate and vanilla :) I really like the carrots and sunflower seed butter but I also like it plain so…it still may not be your cup of tea!

The tomatoes with Frank’s Red Hot (it HAS to be Frank’s!) is delicious. Since I stopped eating meat, I have really missed hot wings so I am addicted to this hot sauce! & the soup was wonderful! I made so much that I am still eating leftovers!!

I’ve never had sunbutter before. I really must hop on the wagon though because it seems as if it’s quite amazing… and addicting :)

I really like it! It is a bit thinner than ordinary peanut butter which makes it better for dipping!

I love Frank’s Red Hot!! Its the best :) I never tried putting it on tomatoes before though I should try!

Love it – truth be told, I could put Frank’s on anything. Maybe we should recommend a Frank’s flavored gelato. Seems like it would fit in with the basil and pluot flavors…

Such great and interesting snack ideas I would’ve never thought of! I’m not a huge fan of spicy things, but I’ve read so much about how hot things can rev your metabolism and ward off hunger because of the flavor. I am definitely thinking of trying the Frank’s on tomatoes! I have also never heard of sunflower seed butter – will have to try that too! ;-)
