‘ellooooooo! I’ve been pretty busy showing my MIL around NYC
and watching the Olympics that I have not had time to post. I’m sure you have all cried a little but otherwise made it through, right?
Anywho – quick update time bc the women’s gymnastic championship is on right now & I am OBSESSED.
It was pretty easy to get to from Brooklyn minus the fact that I missed both of my trains by milliseconds & arrived 2 minutes late (way to make an impression, Alex).
After my late arrival, the class had already started so I quickly joined in. And lemme tell ya, that class was HARD!
We were given weights, ball & rubber thingie (technical term) for some of the exercises but didn’t use them all too much.
Our instructor (Leslie) was great and focused mainly on very small movements throughout the class. At first, I thought the smaller moves would be easy but I was totally wrong. We worked our thighs with little squat pulses, hip muscles (didn’t know they existed) with tiny little movements & arms by moving them up and down only an inch at a time. Throughout the entire workout my muscles were shaking (but the good kind of shake).
And I am SORE! It was a great workout!
I was a big fan of the INGO drink.
After a few sips, it really grew on me!
And guess what?! I FINALLY got to meet my blog love, Megan at Run Like a Grl! We chatted more on the subway ride home than at the event but our conversation included avoiding death during our RTB relay in October & making sure to pack pickles & pretzels for salt replenishment. I’m sure the other riders on the train totally loved us
thought we were strange. We will be planning a get together soon (whether you like it or not, Megan!).
Also of note, I got to meet Mariell (Healthy Pantz) who is super sweet & gave me great advice (do not post photo of MIL drinking beer out of a paper bag – thanks again, Mariell! Also, on another note, I need to watch what I say when I meet new people, they may get the wrong idea…ehh, I is what I is.) & I got to meet Lora (Crazy Running Girl) who I have unknowingly been following on Twitter forever & absolutely loved chatting with!
I just love meeting other bloggers
Overall, great event & wonderful people! Thank you for the opportunity, Melissa!
*I will not be posting a Foodie Penpal post this month because I never received a box from my assigned Penpal. I will admit, I am pretty bummed that I never received anything especially since I spent so much time getting mine together to send out but it is what it is… I have been involved in the program for about 4 months & this is the first month I have had any issues. ’tis life. If you wanna check out what I sent this month check out Jessica is Baking! )
